"Morning People"
A man and woman at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York study Edward Hopper's iconic 1930 painting Early Sunday Morning. Hopper described the painting as "almost a literal translation of Seventh Avenue," and while it is a realistic work, the setting could be almost any Main Street in American. One interesting thing to note is that the long early morning shadows in the painting never appear on Seventh Avenue, which runs north-south.
