Island Hopping
A young woman at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection stops to admire the 1965 painting Little Island by Alfred Joseph Casson. Casson's painting is of Oxtongue Lake, located slightly south west of Algonquin Park. This spot was among the artist's favourite painting places. Casson*s said of the spot *If you ask me to paint a picture of Oxtongue Lake with one of the islands, I could sit down and do it right now*. Casson was the youngest member of the Group of Seven.
